I am the licensee of a 40 bed Memory Care facility and we started using the Best Friends program a little over a year ago. I can see along with family members and other staff the positive changes in the residents however I need to present to my superiors some measurable on the benefit of having this program. Does anyone out there have some suggestions of things I could put on paper to present?

I’m just seeing this and hoping you can still use the information. We track medication reductions and/or D/C’s of all psychotropics. We also track reduction in episodes of “behaviors” and/or incidents of anxiety/agitation/restlessness etc. on our behavioral logs monthly. A resident may show they are trending down with some of the negative symptoms. We also track whether there has been a decrease in falls, we monitor weight and rate whether activity attendance and engagement has increased. Hope this is helpful! Good luck 🙂 -
